My Commitment to Inclusion
My Commitment to Inclusion
Many people start their own businesses because traditional workplaces weren’t built with them in mind. For some, that means navigating barriers linked to disability, neurodivergence, chronic illness, mental health, gender, gender expression, sexuality, faith, heritage and background, or other aspects of identity that have shaped their experiences of work.
I recognise that the very reasons people choose self-employment often overlap with the reasons they may need inclusion to be embedded - not added on as an afterthought.
Inclusion is a crucial ingredient in building the upgraded businesses we’re here to create. It’s impossible to understand the full scope of your potential or take the actions needed to achieve it if you don’t feel safe, accepted and understood in your most important business relationships.

That's why inclusion is woven through every part of how I work. Some practitioners overlook or minimise the real-life challenges that make business harder, leaving people feeling as though they’ve failed for not “pushing through.” My approach is different. I acknowledge and honour those challenges, and we build our strategies around them - drawing on your unique strengths, designing realistic actions, and creating a business that works because of who you are, not despite it.
My Story
My commitment to inclusion comes from lived experience. I wasn’t able to sustain my career as a secondary school teacher because of chronic illness and being undiagnosed neurodivergent at the time. These brought practical and logistical challenges, and also judgement, shame and discrimination that ultimately impacted on my mental health. Self-employment wasn’t just a choice; it was a way to create work that could flex around my needs and allow me to thrive.

In more recent years, discrimination I've faced related to my Jewish identity has deepened my understanding of what it means to feel unsafe or unseen - and strengthened my commitment to creating a business where everyone can be respected, valued and visible. I am always learning, always willing to be challenged, and always open to doing better.
